Purple Day Class Picture
A very busy day in Room 200. First, it was Purple Day at Clairlea and LOTS of purple in our classroom: t-shirts, socks, hairspray, latex gloves (ha!), scarves, glasses, hair bands, sweaters, sweatshirts and crazy purple hats. What great spirit this Grade 7 class has!
Next, we welcomed a new student to our class. Jauncey is from Sri Lanka and has been in Canada since 2010. Rashad was the official welcomer as he speaks Tamil! Welcome Jauncey and her little sister (in Ms Moledina's class).
Next, Manon Gardner, Chief Academic Officer for Toronto District School Board and Nadira Persaud, our Superintendent, came to visit Clairlea. They stopped by our class to say hello and to marvel at all the great Grade 7 purple spirit. It wasn't all crazy today, as the pictures may indicate! We were actually working on algebra in partnered learning.
Tomorrow, we start on Integers in Math. I've provided some (very easy!) Math worksheets to get your head into the Integer frame of mind. Give them a shot. Total homework time on Math should be no more than 30 minutes. C'mon the worksheets aren't really Math - just practice sheets. Way too easy for my bright class.
Some outstanding assignments due - you know who you are.
Happy Monday evening.
