Hi everyone
Here is an update as to what we have been up to in class. We have had a very busy couple of weeks and this term shows no sign of slowing down.
1) I-cubed Science Presentations. - Students are still working on putting these presentations together. Essentially if they are to be considered for the April 24th deadline, students need to stay after school to put in extra time. This initiative is above and beyond what is being taught in the classroom and so extra time and effort is required on students' parts. Please speak to your parents about letting you stay behind after school. We will be able to spend some time in class on this tomorrow afternoon.
2) I-cubed posters - These have been collected and are being submitted today.
3) Eco-School Assembly. Our class will be presenting an Eco Assembly to the school in April. We will work on our presentation tomorrow afternoon.
4) Growth and Development - We have been very fortunate to have Ryerson nursing student Sarah Lawrence at Clairlea to help with our Growth and Development unit. As a nursing student, she brings professional experience to our classroom. She has worked at Sick Kids and Toronto General Hospital and has a lot of knowledge to share. We will be doing some group work and journal writing this week.
5) Patterning - We are working on building equations using variables.
6) Writing - Narrative Rough Drafts were due last week with very few students having finished them. Good copies are due next week. How far behind are YOU?
7) Science - Addicted to Plastics - We watched part of this award-winning video on Tuesday. How plastics have affected the environment and the food we eat will form part of our science unit, this term.
8) Spring Concert - Ms Park is working with our class on our Spring Concert presentation.
9) Friday is Clairlea Pink Day - Please wear something pink to support our respectful Clairlea community.
Let's stay focused now that March Break and Easter Break are behind us. We have a lot to learn!
