History Homework - Due Friday.
In History, we are learning about how personal histories make up part of Canada's heritage. We are learning about how we use different research techniques to gather information.
In this short intro assignment, students will be using gathering stories through shared oral history as a way to learn about Canada's heritage.
Using Family Stories
Many families have stories of their early days in Canada or of past events that are interesting to share. You can use oral history to help understand your family's history.
Interview a member of your family to find out about their early days in Canada. Have they always lived here? Did their parents/grandparents come from somewhere else?
Use dot-jot notes to record a story from a member of your family about their early life. (Think about the readings we did today in class: simple short stories about an event or two that gave a perspective on that person's life.)
This should take about 20 minutes.
Dot-jot notes only.
Do not write in paragraphs or complete sentences.
Due Friday - in your history notebooks.
